Zen Cart Store Configuration

Notwithstanding you have downloaded and installed free trial or full version of Store Manager for Zen Cart, in order to work with your Zen Cart store, you need to connect to it using one of connection types the application offers. In other words, you should create store configuration and specify necessary settings, depending on the connection type.
Store configurations are being managed in Preferences -> Database Connection, you can find in Store Manager main menu, in Settings tab of the ribbon menu or get pressing F12. All the operations, you can perform over configurations, are provided in this window.
How to Add New Store Configuration?
After you install the application, you may experiment with default database, although, as it has been mentioned above, to manage your store, you need, respectively, to set connection to its database. This can be done in different ways:
- Click on Create New configuration button either in Actions drop-down or right near it and input name for this configuration. Choose Zen Cart database connection type (direct, direct, PHP bridge connection) and input settings required for this type of connection.
- Use Connection Wizard to configure connection. The wizard can be launched either from Preferences or find it in Settings section. Wizard lets you choose between simple and advanced modes and correspondingly proceed with required settings.
- It is possible to create store configuration loading connection settings from the file. Click on Import settings from .ini file button or click on Load configurations button in Actions dropdown. In such a way, you will get new configuration with all the settings, loaded file comprises.
- You can clone existing configuration. Store Manager comprises the functionality that allows to clone existing store connection configuration. There will be created new configuration with identical settings. When you select the configuration and click on Clone configuration button, there will appear the window where you should provide configuration name. Afterwards you can change copied settings, input necessary details and, as a result, create new Zen Cart database connection configuration.
How to Save Configuration Settings?
There is the possibility to save configuration settings to .ini file. Two options are provided: Save current configuration and Save all configurations. The first one allows you to save one configuration to the file, whereas all the configurations can be exported to one file using the Save all configurations option.
Having several Zen Cart stores you, respectively, need to designate connection configuration for each. Any time you can connect to necessary store simply changing connection configuration. In order to do that you should open Settings tab of Store Manager ribbon menu, expand “Quick Configuration Switch” drop-down and select necessary configuration from it.
