This way there is no need to open each order view page to find out which products are included into the order or where it should be shipped.
Order record is created in your database when a user purchases something from your site. It holds all the details relating to a checkout process, including a unique reference number, any promo codes used. All orders are assigned two unique numbers, first the ID Number which is an internal reference used by the system, your first order will be ID 1, the second ID2 etc.
Another way to create order is to add them from administration part. Store owner or the person who handles customer purchases can do it. It is useful when for example a client is ordering via phone. In Store Manager for Zen Cart there is useful order creation form that allows to input all the necessary details from one place.
Have order listings in the file and they need to be added massively? Upload purchases with Import Orders Wizard.
When the order is placed there might occur the situation when you need to update it. For example, when the client is calling and asks you to change his/her shipping address, because the typo was made while order placement. You can do it either manually or massively via import in case multiple orders need to be modified.

It is possible to sort orders by certain characteristics that greatly speeds up the procedure of lookup. Search and sort products by period, status, ordered products, customers who have placed the order etc.
