Zen Cart Email Templates
Being able to effectively and efficiently communicate with clients is one of the most important aspects of being the owner of an e-shop. Sending emails to clients can be a great way to stay in touch with your customers.
Emails are sent to the customers, who subscribe to newsletters and other kind of product notifications. Additionally, when the clients register account at your shop or place an order for the products, they receive an email. Emails can be sent from time to time to notify the customers about the status of the purchase, new products available in the store, any promos you are currently running.
Store Manager for Zen Cart offers the possibility to create various e-mail templates for them to be used for different purposes at your store.
The Structure of Email Template
Email messages have certain structure and depending on the elements, there are special tabs in ‘Email templates’ section of Store Manager for Zen Cart:
- Template name
- Template body
Operations Over Email Templates
At the toolbar there are available buttons that allow you to make certain operations over e-mail templates. You can:
-add new email sample
-clone existing template
-modify any of samples, applying changes performed
-delete messages you have created before
-preview and test created email
-set up necessary settings for e-mails to be sent
Adding Email Template
To add new email sample you need to press appropriate button at the toolbar. After that you need to indicate template name.
Next you need to proceed to message itself. Type in email subject (it should be informative to attract attention of your clients). Message itself should contain information you want to get across to your clients. HTML-formatted emails ensure that your messages will be delivered in tip-top shape to your customers, no matter what email clients they are using. Using macros you can adjust your email, personalizing it.
If you use other language than English, use proper encoding for the special symbols to be recognized and properly displayed.
Attach files if necessary, like your company logo etc.
After all the changes are made, you can preview newly-created template to check if everything is ok.
Setting Up Email Settings
In order for the messages to be sent to your clients, you need to specify necessary settings which are available in Preferences section of the application (F12) or called up by pressing corresponding button at the toolbar.
SMTP settings include details influencing emails sending mechanism, like SMTP Mail Server name, port, user and pass and additional settings.
To verify all the settings, send test e-mail in a number of browsers and email clients to ensure you are happy with both the content and the formatting of Zen Cart template you will be sending to your customers.
